Italy: Symphony of Light

From Rome, where ages breathe through stone,

The Colosseum’s heart still beats alone—

Each echo hums of gods and kings,

Of love that time forever sings.

Pisa’s quiet grace in marble shines,

Florence’s heart in living art aligns,

Arno whispers softly through each dream,

And through Arezzo’s charm, the ages gleam.

Siena whispers history in every line,

Pienza glows with harmony by design,

San Gimignano’s towers stand still in time,

And Tuscany’s soul unfolds in scenes divine.

Milan hums with silken pride and flair,

Where fashion dances through the air;

Cathedrals pierce the sky so grand,

And canals mirror the city’s hand.

Assisi kneels in quiet prayer,

By San Francesco and Santa Chiara fair;

Lake Como mirrors heaven’s hue,

While Garda shimmers, calm and true.

Venice floats on sighs of glass,

Where moonlight melts as lovers pass;

And Verona’s heart forever yearns,

At Casa di Giulietta, where love returns.

Naples laughs by the sapphire sea,

With Pizza Margherita’s melody;

Bologna’s warmth, its crimson walls,

Hold feasts where joy and evening calls.

Along the Amalfi cliffs, blue wonders shine,

Cinque Terre blooms in colors divine;

Sicily rises in fire-kissed grace,

Where myths and mountains share one face.

Up north where Alpine whispers flow,

Bolzano warms in sunset’s glow;

Corvara dreams where Dolomites gleam,

And snow-veiled Cortina d’Ampezzo crowns the scene.

O Italy, from shore to star,

No heart can leave you, near or far;

For Verdi’s notes and Puccini’s release,

Sing of your soul—eternal peace.
