Places We Visited During Our Trip to Alappuzha • Vembanad Lake – The longest lake in India and the largest lake in the state of Kerala. • St. Joseph’s Church – A Catholic church in Kerala belonging to the Syro-Malabar Church under the Archeparchy of Changanacherry. Built in 977 AD, it is believed to be the first church in Asia dedicated to Saint Joseph. • St. Thomas Orthodox Church – A historic church that is over 100 years old. • Palathikkadu Sree Bhadradevi Temple – A renowned Hindu temple known for its spiritual and cultural significance. • Alleppey Lighthouse – Located in the coastal town of Alappuzha, this lighthouse was built in 1862 and is one of the city’s major tourist attractions. • Paddy Fields – The lush green paddy fields of Kuttanad, often called the “Rice Bowl of Kerala,” offer breathtaking views and showcase traditional farming practices.
