Alappuzha Trip
The places that we visited during our trip to Alappuzha :
• Vembanad Lake – The longest lake in India, as well as the largest lake in the state of Kerala.
• St. Joseph's Church – A Catholic church in Kerala. It belongs to Syro-Malabar Church under the archeparchy of Changanacherry. Built in 977 AD, it is is the first church in Asia dedicated to Saint Joseph.
• St. Thomas Orthodox Church – It is a 100 years old church.
• Palathikkadu Sree Bhadradevi Temple
• Alleppey Lighthouse – It is situated in the coastal town of Alappuzha. It was built in 1862 and is a major tourist attraction.

ABOUT ALAPPUZHA
Alappuzha, also known as Alleppey, is a city in Alappuzha district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is also the headquarters of the district. Alappuzha is situated on the coast of the Lakshadweep Sea, which is the south-eastern part of the Arabian Sea. A city with canals, backwaters, beaches and lagoons known for it's houseboat cruises, Alappuzha was described as the "Venice of the East" by George Curzon, Viceroy of India in the early 20th century. A singularity of this land is the region called “KUTTANAD” – a land of lush paddy fields referred to as the rice bowl of Kerala and one of the few places in the world where farming is done below sea level.
