Kanyakumari Trip

 


During our trip to Kanyakumari we visited the following places : 
• Suchindram Shree Thanumalayan Swamy Temple – The Thanumalayan Temple, also called Sthanumalayan Temple is an important Hindu temple located in Suchindram in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu. 
• Shirdi Sai Baba Temple – The white temple situated at the top of the hill, with excellent view .
• Kumari Amman Temple – The Kumari Amman Temple is one of the most sacred temples in the world.
• Vivekananda Rock Memorial – A monument and popular tourist attraction in Kanyakumari. The memorial stands on one of the two rocks located about 500 meters off mainland of Vavathurai. It was built in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda, who is said to have attained enlightenment on the rock. 
• Marunthuvazh Malai – The Marundhuvazh Malai, a part of Sanjeevi hills is also known as the Marundhu Vazhum Malai/Maruthwamalai, forms the part and the southernmost tip of the Western Ghats of Agasteeswaram taluk of Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu State. People living in southern Kerala call it Maruthuva Mala. 
• Sunset Point – This place is famous for sunset views from a beautiful spot overlooking the sea and rocky beach.
• Mysterious Mother Mary – A wonderful place to stand to see the sunset in Kanyakumari Beach. 
• Our Lady of Ransom Church – A Catholic Church located at Kanyakumari.

ABOUT KANYAKUMARI 
Kanyakumari is a coastal town in the state of Tamil Nadu and the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent and the southernmost city in mainland India, thus referred to as 'The Land's End'. Kanyakumari is the land of Goddess Parvati and bears witness to the confluence of the Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. Also known as Cape Comorin, Kanyakumari is held in high esteem by Hindus because of its petrified temples. It's also a noted pilgrimage site thanks to its Bagavathi Amman Temple, dedicated to a consort of Shiva, and its Our Lady of Ransom Church, a center of Indian Catholicism.
