Places We Visited in Udaipur • Shri Eklingji Temple: A famous Hindu temple complex located in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan, India. It is situated in Kailashpuri village, near the ancient capital of Mewar, Nagda. Lord Eklingji is believed to be the ruling deity of the former Mewar princely state, and the Maharana traditionally served as His Dewan (chief administrator). • Lake Pichola: A beautiful artificial freshwater lake in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It was created in 1362 AD and is named after the nearby Picholi village. It is one of the city’s most famous lakes and has been developed over several centuries. The lake is surrounded by magnificent palaces, temples, and ghats, making it one of Udaipur’s most iconic attractions. • Taj Lake Palace: A luxurious five-star heritage hotel located on Jag Niwas Island in the middle of Lake Pichola. Places We Visited in Tripura • Tripura Sundari Temple: One of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India, Tripura Sundari Temple, also known as Matabari, is located in Udaipur. Dedicated to Goddess Tripura Sundari, the temple features a distinctive square-shaped sanctum and attracts thousands of devotees throughout the year. • Bhubaneswari Temple: Situated on the banks of the Gomati River, Bhubaneswari Temple is a renowned Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Bhuvaneswari. Its elegant architecture and cultural significance are further enhanced by its association with Rabindranath Tagore, who mentioned the temple in his literary works. • Kalyan Sagar Lake: Located adjacent to the Tripura Sundari Temple, Kalyan Sagar is a serene lake known for its abundant fish and turtle population.
