Places We Visited in Udaipur

• Shri Eklingji Temple: A famous Hindu temple complex located in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan, India. It is situated in Kailashpuri village, near the ancient capital of Mewar, Nagda. Lord Eklingji is believed to be the ruling deity of the former Mewar princely state, and the Maharana traditionally served as His Dewan (chief administrator).

• Lake Pichola: A beautiful artificial freshwater lake in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It was created in 1362 AD and is named after the nearby Picholi village. It is one of the city’s most famous lakes and has been developed over several centuries. The lake is surrounded by magnificent palaces, temples, and ghats, making it one of Udaipur’s most iconic attractions.

• Taj Lake Palace: A luxurious five-star heritage hotel located on Jag Niwas Island in the middle of Lake Pichola. Built from white marble, it is one of Udaipur’s most famous landmarks and offers breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding Aravalli Hills.

• Jag Mandir: A magnificent palace built on an island in Lake Pichola, also known as the “Lake Garden Palace.” Located in Udaipur, Rajasthan, its construction was carried out by three Maharanas of the Sisodia dynasty of the Mewar Kingdom. It is renowned for its impressive architecture and historical significance.

• Maharana Pratap Museum (Haldighati Museum): A museum dedicated to the life and bravery of Maharana Pratap. It is popularly known as the Haldighati Museum and showcases historical artifacts, paintings, and exhibits related to the famous Battle of Haldighati.

• Fateh Sagar Lake: A picturesque artificial lake situated northwest of Lake Pichola in Udaipur. Named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Mewar, it was originally constructed in the 1680s and is one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions.

My Favorite Experience:

I especially enjoyed the boat ride on Lake Pichola. The scenic beauty of the lake, along with the stunning views of the palaces and surrounding hills, made it an unforgettable experience.
