Tirupati Blog

Tirupati, located in Andhra Pradesh, is a major pilgrimage destination, especially known for its temples and religious significance. Here are some popular sites we visited in Tirupati:

• Tirumala Hills: These hills are part of the Eastern Ghats, and they are the setting for the famous Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple. The scenic beauty and serene atmosphere make it a popular pilgrimage site, with devotees making the journey to the top either by foot or by vehicle.
• Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple: This is the most prominent attraction in Tirupati, dedicated to Lord Venkateswara (an incarnation of Vishnu). It is one of the richest temples in India, attracting millions of pilgrims every year. The temple is located on the Tirumala Hills and is known for its elaborate rituals and the deity's unique idol.
• Sri Kalahasti Temple: This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is particularly famous for the unique "Vayu" (wind) worship, where devotees offer prayers to the deity while the wind gusts through the temple. It is also known for its significance in the Kalahasti Vayu Dhanurveda, an ancient text on the worship of the elements.
