Mumbai Trip

  Mumbai was like a wonderland to me. The following places I visited in Mumbai: • Global Vipassana Pagoda – A magnificent Buddhist shrine inaugurated by former President of India Pratibha Patil on 8 February 2009. • Siddhivinayak Temple – The famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shri Ganesh. It is also one of the richest temples in India. • Marine Drive – Mumbai’s iconic curved coastal boulevard, often called the Queen’s   Necklace because of its glowing string of streetlights at night. • Mahalakshmi Temple – One of Mumbai’s most revered temples, dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, the central deity of the Devi Mahatmyam. It was built in 1831 by Dhakji Dadaji, a Hindu merchant. • Haji Ali Dargah – A historic Muslim shrine known for its mesmerizing location, architectural beauty, and spiritual significance. • Bandra–Worli Sea Link – The fourth longest bridge in India, after Bhupen Hazarika Setu, Dibang River Bridge, and Mahatma Gandhi Setu. • Gateway of India – The city’s most i...

Jodhpur Trip

The following places we visited during our trip to Jodhpur: • Ghanta Ghar: A historic clock tower built by Maharaja Sardar Singh, after whom the surrounding market is named. • Umaid Bhawan Palace: One of the world’s largest private residences, named after Maharaja Umaid Singh, the grandfather of the present owner, Gaj Singh. The palace has 347 rooms and serves as the principal residence of the former Jodhpur royal family. A portion of it has been converted into a museum. • Phool Mahal: A beautifully decorated hall inside Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur. Believed to have served as a pleasure chamber for the Maharajas, it was also where female dancers once performed. • Moti Mahal: The largest and brightest of the five historic rooms inside Mehrangarh Fort. • Sheesh Mahal: Also known as the Hall of Mirrors, this ornate chamber within the vast 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is adorned with intricate mirror work. • Mehrangarh Fort: Built in 1459 by Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur, this majestic fo...

Jaisalmer Trip

We visited the following places during our trip to Jaisalmer: • Jaisalmer Wind Park – India’s second-largest and the world’s fourth-largest operational onshore wind farm, located in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. • Bada Bagh – A beautiful garden complex situated about six kilometers north of Jaisalmer. Overlooking a mango grove, it features a series of royal chhatri cenotaphs built by the Maharajas of Jaisalmer during the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries CE. • Kuldhara – An abandoned village established in the 13th century, once home to the prosperous Paliwal Brahmins. Today, it stands as one of Rajasthan’s most intriguing historical sites. • Jaisalmer Fort Jain Temples – A group of seven exquisitely carved Jain temples located inside the Jaisalmer Fort. • Maharaja’s Palace – Situated within Jaisalmer Fort, this palace is a small yet captivating structure showcasing royal rooms, artifacts, and intricate architectural details. • Patwon Ki Haveli – One of the most important and...
