Mumbai Trip

  Mumbai was like a wonderland to me. On my first day in Mumbai, I visited the following places : • Global Vipassana Pagoda – The Buddhist shrine. The pagoda was inaugurated by Pratibha Patil, former president of India, on 8 February 2009. • Siddhivinayak Temple –The Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shri Ganesh. It is one of the richest temples in India. • Marine Drive – Mumbai's iconic curved coastal boulevard which is often referred to as the Queen's Necklace because of its glowing string of street lights. • Mahalakshmi Temple – The Mahalakshmi Temple is one of the most famous temples of the city of Mumbai, India. It is dedicated to Mahalakshmi the central deity of Devi Mahatmyam. The temple was built in 1831 by Dhakji Dadaji, a Hindu merchant. • Haji Ali Dargah – The Muslim shrine famous for its mesmerising location, architectural beauty, and religious significance. • Bandra-Worli Sea Link –  The 4th longest bridge in India after Bhupen Hazarika Setu, Dibang River Bridge and ...

Jodhpur Trip

On my first day in Jodhpur I visited Ghanta Ghar the clock tower which was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh from whom the market takes it name. It was an awesome experience to do zip lining. The next day I saw the following places : • Umaid Bhawan Palace : It is one of the world's largest private residences. Named after Maharaja Umaid Singh, grandfather of the present owner Gaj Singh. The palace has 347 rooms and is the principal residence of the former Jodhpur royal family. A part of the palace is a museum. • Phool Mahal : It is a beautifully decorated hall in the Mehrangarh fort, Jodhpur. The hall probably served the purpose of a pleasure dome of the Maharajas, and the female dancers used to stay here. • Moti Mahal : It is the largest and brightest room of the five historic rooms present in the Mehrangarh Fort. • Sheesh Mahal : Also known as The Hall Of Mirrors, decorative mirror palace inside the sprawling 15th-century hilltop Mehrangarh fortress.  • Mehrangarh Fort : Built by Rao...

Jaisalmer Trip

On my first day in Jaisalmer, we visited the following places : • Jaisalmer Wind Park : India's second largest globally the fourth-largest operational onshore wind farm. This project is located in Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan, Western India.  • Bada Bagh : It is a garden complex located about six kilometers north of Jaisalmer in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Overlooking a mango grove sits a set of royal chhatri cenotaphs constructed by the Maharajas of the Jaisalmer State in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries CE. • Kuldhara : An abandoned village in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, India. Established around the 13th century, it was once a prosperous village inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins. • Jaisalmer Fort Jain Temples : A group of 7 Jain temples inside Jaisalmer Fort in state of Rajasthan.   The next day we visited : • Maharaja's Palace : Situated within the Jaisalmer Fort, the Maharaja's Palace is a small yet fascinating structure with plenty to see. • Patwon K...
