Mount Abu Trip
We travelled by bus from Ambaji to Mount Abu and played Antakshari along the way. I also bought a hat for myself there and enjoyed a horse-riding experience. During the trip, I visited two beautiful temples located in the mountains.
The following places we visited in Mount Abu:
• Brahma Kumaris Ashram – An international, non-governmental spiritual organization founded by Dada Lekhraj Kripalani in the 1930s, with its headquarters in Mount Abu. The hill where the ashram is located is also called Madhuban (meaning “forest of honey”). The ashram has a museum that showcases the spiritual knowledge said to be given by Lord Shiva to Prajapita Brahma.
• Dilwara Temples – The Dilwara (or Delvada) Temples are a group of five exquisite Jain temples located in Mount Abu Nagar in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan. Built between the 11th and 13th centuries, these temples are renowned for their intricate marble architecture and are dedicated to the Tirthankaras of Jainism.
ABOUT MOUNT ABU
Mount Abu is a hill station in western India’s Rajasthan state, near the Gujarat border. The place is well known for its Dilwara Jain Temples. Set on a high rocky plateau in the Aravalli Range and surrounded by forest, it offers a relatively cool climate and stunning views of the arid plains below. At the center of the town lies Nakki Lake, a popular spot for boating and relaxation.
